Cordoba, 1978. A reflection on the Austria-Germany game which has become a mythical event. A replay of a replay of a replay. Hans Krankl rejoices, the slow motion almost bringing him to a halt. "Three to two for Austria. After 47 years, ladies and gentlemen. A world-class team´s on the field today." This was the opinion of Austrian sportscaster Edi Finger three decades ago, and it´s also how many Austrians remember it. German radio commentator Armin Hauffe regarded the situation with much less emotion: "Germany lost to Austria three to two in one game. It was a weak international match. That´s all from Cordoba".
