Perfect 1-3

The found footage construction of the Perfect trilogy shows, in a flickering, pumping screen- light, the collision between sexuality and violence in three places. The 60 minute original, and only, version existed up till 1991 and was badly damaged from many showings. It has now been restored 1996. (Dietmar Brehm) to Perfekt-2 The film´s title refers to an architectural disaster, the collapse of the Tacoma Narrow Bridge in the US state of Washington, which happened on November 7, 1940. The lurching bridge and its eventual collapse were filmed by a camera crew. Brehm then condensed a Super-8 fragment of this footage by means of altering it and confronting it with other materials to create a parable of “sex and violence” and life and death.
