Mozart (15) from Milan 1771 (Mozart Minute 11)

Mozart, at the age of 15, composed the opera "Ascanio in Alba" for Archduke Ferdinand´s wedding in three weeks of fall 1771. In a letter to his sister in Salzburg he briefly described the working conditions.


My dearest Sister
Now I need only two more arias, then I´ll be all done.
My fingers are so sore from writing
Next to us is a violinist
There´s another one on the other side
In front of us a singing teacher giving lessons
In the last room is an oboist
That makes composing fun
Gives you lots of ideas
