Urban architecture and its special character: Lotte Schreiber's filmic homage to a 1960s concrete apartment block in Trieste, underscored by Stefan Nemeth's soundtrack. Dimitri Venkov shows examples from three important periods of Moscow's monumental architecture: Stalin's time, brutalist modernism and today's glass façades. besenbahn creates a continuum of the streets of Los Angeles from fleeting moments. Taipei is one of the cities in Nikki Schuster's Recyclers series, in which she walks the streets and weaves the rubbish she finds into animated sequences. Michaela Grill and Martin Siewert use archive footage from the Austrian Film Museum to conjure up a contemporary video work in which only traces of the past are visible. (Brigitta Burger-Utzer)
