Ece (Mozart Minute 19)

Silence
Ece sits at a piano.
Silence
Who is she?
When will she start?
What will she play?
Silence
Movement in her hands.
Silence
Her body seems tense.
Her hands are about to play the keyboard.
Silence
The tension is released.
A sound, a note, a melody

Ece is a young autistic girl who lives in Istanbul. I met her as a friend, a musician I did music therapy work with.
The concept of language is inscribed in the body and body language long before a word is uttered or anything is written down.
The articulated failure to enunciate something contains the experience of speechlessness in the face of that which is unspeakable but can be sensed.
This theme is the basis of the one-minute film.
My method of making films requires dealing with a situation spontaneously. A complete mental interest in the people involved is a prerequisite in the same way. I would also ask that of the viewer.
