Fluidum and Property: Body Relations as Measure of Property
In this work a relationship is fabricated between the body and the environment using comparable scales. Parameters of proportion and scale in regard to the human body and its environment are deployed, namely plastic sculptural parameters. Because it is possible to lay a hand, a limited corporeal territory, upon a piece of bread, a limited environmental territory, in other words because corporeal space and environmental space correspond in scale and proportion, it is tempting to say, “This is my bread.” What the human perceives as possession is also an extension of the body, his fluidum. The politics of the body are also the politics of space. The share of space enlarges according to the size of the body part (body size). A dialectic between body (conditions) and ownership, between dimensions of body and dimensions of property is represented and produced. (Peter Weibel)
