Oneforty

Karl Wallner, the protagonist of this short film, is about 50 years old. At the age of 14 and a height of 140 centimeters he stopped growing. The film shows scenes from the life of a dwarf, at home and work, and during his spare time.

"This is the first film I made at Vienna's Film Academy. I wanted to amke a film about an extremely short, handicapped man, though without the usual hypocritical show of sympathy often found in this kind of documentary concerned with social issues. I wanted to show a handicapped man as an individual you can laugh at or be bored by just like anyone else." (Ulrich Seidl)
