Field Damage

At the center of the video is an action by Christoph Ruschak. He sits at dusk on a meadow and plays this meadow on his old radio different stations in the long wave range.
The reception of these stations from all over the world is so bad, however, that a noise concert emerges from it. The idea was to illustrate the presence of media by presenting acoustically to nature in the middle of nowhere what surrounds it anyway as electromagnetic waves. Many of the recordings of this video were made with infrared light in order to visually bring wavelengths of light into play, which, like electromagnetic waves, are usually not perceptible with our sensorium.
