Destruction and Fury

Mon Sept. 7, 2020, 19:00 h
Metro Kinokulturhaus

Repetition of the programme, which was previously only shown online due to Corona, at its original venue in the MetroKino

As a creative means in art, destruction as a live action, as an act of depicting destruction, as an attack on the fine arts or as the integration of found, worn or destroyed objects is still very young. Film art and Expanded Cinema were considered almost from the very beginning, especially when one thinks of the participants in the legendary Destruction in Art Symposium in London in 1966. The film programme brings together works that make aggressive use of other people's or their own film material: Lurf, Fruhauf, Sharits and Tscherkassky. Others (Vrba, Ventzislavova, Schwentner and Walkowiak) express their anger in a more restrained way, but still land their attack clearly. (bbu)
